• 2015 Marlin Styner Award – a lifetime achievement award from the International Day Persons with Disabilities(IDPD) conference
• 2015 Inducted in the Alberta Sports Hall of Fame
• 2015 Named Ambassador for the Canadian Down Syndrome Society Conference in Edmonton
• 2012 Honoured by the Governor General and Premier The Diamond Jubilee Medal‏ for Community Services in Edmonton
• 2007 Awarded by the Edmonton Mayor Stephen Mandel for Services for Persons with Disabilities
• 2003 Winning the NHL’s Seventh Man Award

Other highlights:

• Over 32 years of working experience with the Edmonton Oilers and Edmonton Elks
• Joey has had his picture on the trucks supporting Winnifred Stewart’s “Empties to Winns” program
• For many years, Joey presented the “Joey Moss” Cup at the Edmonton Oilers Training Camp
• There is a Joey’s Home Trust Golf Tournament established by Daytona Homes, which supports residential living for those with Downs Syndrome
• Joey’s first Mural on 7016 – 99th Street Edmonton, AB, designed and completed by artist Ian Mulder
• Joey's second Mural on 95th Street Edmonton, AB, designed and completed by artist AJA Louden
